An introvert who loves curling up with a good book plus the most extroverted person you’ll ever meet who can’t sit still and you get a recipe for a fun, amazing and adventurous relationship.
These two are always on the move, always doing something adventurous, soaking up new scenes, hiking, adventuring, taking pictures and loving each other whole-heartedly. There’s never a dull moment in their relationship.
It was a blessing for me to get to know these two even better as they’ve been a seriously important integral process to getting my house listed. We had a small problem become a big problem in the preparation to list the house, and Adam completely fixed it. He had a small team help in one day, but he did most of it with the help of his lovely bride, Amanda. They were at our house almost everyday for two weeks. They’ve been nothing short of kind and generous to us with their time, resources and friendship.
It’s funny, as a photographer, I imagine myself as the one who serves, but with this couple, they’re definitely the one who has served me a lot more than I’ve served them. But… that’s also just the people they are. They love wholeheartedly and the give and provide anything they can for the people they care about. They asked me to join them on a hike of Humpback Rocks for their engagement session. Who could say no to that?
I’m definitely nervous to move to Blacksburg for a lot of reasons, but one of them in particular is feeling like I won’t have all of the things to adventure that I have in the Hampton Roads. We’re losing some neat things, play areas for Noah, etc. However, going out to this engagement session with them to the mountains made me realize that I’m gaining a lot as well. I’m gaining fresh air. I’m gaining a simpler life. I’m gaining less noise and people. I’m gaining trees, changing leaves, a real winter, and so much more. There’s nothing like being on top of a mountain to remind you that everything is going to be okay. How can you feel anything but insignificant on top of a mountain, knowing that the Creator takes care of the birds and the flowers – so obviously, I’m going to be okay.
In these images you’ll see two loves: a love of each other, and a love of the outside. It’s no joke that Adam and Amanda love the outdoors, and it’s grown them together and grown their relationship through each adventurous experience they’ve had.
Thankful to have been there for them during this time and pray these images remind them of the sweet time they’re in now.
