I don’t think I stopped laughing or jumping up and down for Greg and Ar’s entire engagement session. Seriously, it was that much fun.
They drove down for the evening from Richmond to adventure in the 757. We ended up going with Fort Monroe for their engagement session because of the incredible diversity of scenery, including the amazing beach that we finished on.
We started the session with a more in-depth story-telling of how they met and started dating. It all began with the best decision Greg has ever made – move to Virginia where he ended up meeting the lady of his dreams, my friend, Ar. They met through mutual friends at their church, and after Greg got situated in his new city of Richmond, he pursued Ar, and the rest, my friends is history.
After the story telling, we just walked around, played and enjoyed our time together in the beauty weather. I will admit, by the end, we were all a little chilly – but the sun that day was just absolutely incredible.
When I walked away from their shoot, I was inspired to write this post on engagement session preparation because I realized there was something present in their engagement session that isn’t always present: a sense of connectedness, comfort around one another and just excitement. It reminded me that the most important part of an engagement session really is the genuine story of each couple and their natural smiles, reactions, silliness, sweetness, etc. I’m so excited for Greg and Ar to get married this coming September because I’ve already come to love them as a couple just in my short time laughing with them. I’m definitely stoked about their future wedding pictures because of their incredible chemistry together and on camera. Oh, it also helps that Ar is a wedding planner 🙂
Greg & Ar – it’s a blessing to walk in this season with you as your photographer, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you at the end of summer!
